Reflecting on Workshops - Materials Recommendations
I’ve taught a few workshops here and there with students possessing a variety of skill levels in painting as well as creating abstract art. A lot of the information I provide to participants centers around tools and materials that I commonly use in my art practice and how to apply them to their own. Some of these items and ideas I’ve received from other artists and some I’ve found on my own, so I am happy to be able to share them with you.
Below is a list of items I buy and keep in my studio to use while creating my abstract paintings. These are paints, drawing tools and materials, brushes and palette knives, and mediums. Other things I buy are shipping supplies, storage, things to organize my supplies and office items to keep business in order. I encourage artists to think broadly when it comes to their art practice as you creak open that studio door and begin showing the world your creative prowess, things begin to change for you and how you are percieved. Having the right stuff makes it a lot easier to manage and helps you grow.
